June 2014 : How are we travelling?

The index went down this month and the Hitcher and Random systems turned off.  All the various systems improved performance over the month.  This is a promising sign of what should come but it's still early days.

By way of comparison I have also added the Forex trades to the chart.

BTT - Well this is actually a closed position but it is a good illustration of why trading is simple but not easy.  The day after we take a loss it pops up and gives another buy signal. Does this mean the strategy should be adjusted?  I don't think so!  This is just one of those things that happen.  We have to learn to ignore them and move on because consistency is paramount to profitable trading.

The next question is; would we take the buy signal if the system was currently switched on?  The simple answer is yes if it was the only signal or the best signal of a group at the time.  We can't get personal about stocks - they are not our friends or enemies they just do their thing and we do ours.

AUDCHF is in a decent up-trend.  We had a little pullback so now I would go long with a tight stop and a decent initial target.  So my paper trade is Long at 08402 - Stop 0.8365 - Tgt 0.8512

EURJPY - going OK but the wide initial stop has made my original target a stretch by the look of it - I will tighten the target to 137.70 (a little higher than appears here) which still gets me 1 : 2.  Note that the stop is now in the money - a free trade!
